Dancefloors Are Back: Grab Your Dancing Shoes & Head To Sydney’s First Post-COVID Dance Floor

Cool Sh*t, Play, Sydney / 26 March 2021

With restrictions easing, it’s time to get your dancing shoes and head out for a boogie in Sydney.

From Monday, March 29th, 2021, dance floors are back. It’s been a tough year for businesses across the country, and the easing of restrictions gives venues and entertainment sites the chance to welcome more punters through their doors.

So, what does this mean? We’re now able to stand up and drink at bars across the state. Plus, venue caps have been lifted, which means you’re able to have up to 200 people at outdoor gatherings and seated entertainment venues can move back to 100% capacity.

But the most exciting news? Dance floors are back which means you can get up and boogie at your favourite venues again.

And we’re thrilled to share details of Sydney’s first dance floor to reopen post restrictions. On Monday morning at 12:01 am (March 29th), the Kings Cross Hotel will be welcoming punters back with open arms. Located in the heart of the city’s most renowned nightlife precinct, the Kings Cross Hotel will play host to DJs from Sunday night into the early hours of Monday morning.

Plus, the Kings Cross Hotel will then be bringing back their dancefloor on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with DJs hitting the decks.

But this isn’t the only venue bringing dance floors back to Sydney. Opera Bar will allow dancing at their stunning outdoor venue from Monday with daily live music, DJs, and dancing all on the menu.

Plus from Wednesday, the Golden Sheaf in Double Bay, Newtown’s Marly Hotel, and The Bank Hotel will be bringing back dance floors at all of their venues. From Thursday, The Clock Hotel in Surry Hills, Barangaroo House, and The Albion Hotel are all bringing back dancing. And from Saturday, Goros in Surry Hills and The Erko will have DJs and dancefloors happening.

Merivale has also just launched a new ‘Let’s Dance’ program of events, kicking off from March 28th. Eight of their top-notch venues will come alive with dancing, DJs and so much more after dark from next week.
