Splash Into Summer at The Old Clare Hotel

There’s a new watering hole right in the heart of town and all of Sydney is invited. On the site of what was the old Carlton Brewery has blossomed The Old Clare Hotel; Sydney’s chicest new drink and dine venue. After opening in September in the re-developed Kensington Street precinct,  The Old Clare unveils it’s Rooftop Pool and Bar to the public bringing modern glam to the typical Australian pool party.
A skip, hop and jump away from Central Station in Chippendale, this will be the hottest place to beat the heat this summer. Have a quick dip in their 14m pool before cocktails in the lounge area, all set against the iconic Sydney skyline that surrounds you.
The drinks, designed by Matt Fairhurst, are summer inspired with refreshing flavours to match the environment. Our favourite is the frozen Miami Vice cocktail, a crazy concoction of two different cocktails – the pina colada and the strawberry daiquiri layered upon each other and served in a frozen hurricane glass. There is also offer a great list of spritzers, both alcoholic or virgin as well as flavoured gin & tonics beer, wine and spirits.
For the morning person, they offer exercise and yoga sessions, including cardio boxing, circuit classes and personal training.
The Old Clare is still a work in progress. Restaurants Silvereye and Automata are already open with Kensington St Social coming soon. But for now, all you need to know about is getting out of work early so you can hit the pool.
