You’ve probably noticed the wave of Americana hitting Sydney. Across the city diners, speakeasies, croughnuts, pulled pork and buffalo wings are abundant.
This week Americans worldwide are celebrating Thanksgiving. It’s a celebration of great food, loved ones and giving thanks – it’s time that Sydneysiders add this festival to their calendar. Here’s where you can join in the thanks:

On Thursday, the official night of Thanksgiving, American pop-up restaurant Rupert and Ruby will be hosting a three-course traditional feast. For $75 you can enjoy classic American fare with a Sydney twist; pickled spring onions, confit turkey breast, juniper jelly, fried sourdough and turkey rinds will grace the table along with smoked pig and a side of candied yams.

The Lord Raglan

Redfern’s The Lord Raglan is hosting a $59 buffet complete with roast chicken, duck, turkey and stuffing. A selection of favourite American sides like baked mac and cheese, and jalapeno corn bread will be on offer, as well as a plenty of pumpkin pie!

The Bourbon

Transport yourself across the Pacific and over to The Bourbon. On Friday, they will be screening NFL’s annual Thanksgiving Day game live from noon. For $50 enjoy a 2 course traditional meal with a Blue Moon beer in hand. You’ll need to recruit some American buddies to share the feast of turkey, golden roasted potatoes, maple roasted veges, steamed greens, pumpkin pie and golden beignets.
