Down the stairs and straight into one of the CBD’s most exciting restaurants. This is Letra House. Hidden beneath Palazzo Salato, Letra House brings the energy of a late-night Spanish bar to Sydney’s CBD. This subterranean spot is all moody lighting, great bottles and a menu made for sharing, with tapas, small plates and seasonal dishes inspired by the team’s travels through Spain. With more than 50 wines available by the glass and a rotating selection that keeps things interesting, there’s always a reason to order another round.
We love Letra House for its hidden-away feel and lively, anything-can-happen atmosphere. Come for a quick glass of wine and a few tapas. Or settle in for a meal of classic Spanish dishes including a changing tortilla, as well as a selection of jamón. They also have house-made morcilla and their signature socarrat (a crispy, caramelised layer of toasted rice at the bottom of a well-cooked Spanish paella), with pippies and firefly squid. It’s intimate, energetic and just the right amount of underground. A CBD night out with plenty of personality.
