Emma’s Snack Bar Enmore

Emma's Snack Bar Enmore – Lebanese Share Plates Worth the Queue

Emma's Snack Bar Enmore has been the Inner West's go-to for Lebanese share plates since its 2017 relaunch from the more formal Emma's on Liberty into a looser, snackier format. The shift paid off. On any given night the tiny Liberty Street dining room fills with groups working through a table crowded with dips, fried things and skewers, all built for passing around rather than claiming as your own.

The menu leans hard into the classics done properly. Four different homous styles cover the bases, from the traditional version topped with sautéed lamb and pine nuts to a spicy rendition finished with crispy garlic and chilli. The kibbe, three lamb and cracked wheat torpedoes filled with pine nuts, is a standout, as are the arak garlic prawns flamed tableside with sumac. For something more substantial, the moorish chicken and chicken shawarma both come grilled and wrapped through Lebanese bread with shaved red onion. Save room for the kanefe, a semolina and mozzarella pudding soaked in orange blossom syrup that's become something of a signature.

Groups are well looked after too, with set banquet menus available from $67 a head covering either a meat or vegetarian spread across dips, salads and grilled mains. BYO wine is available for a small per-person charge if you'd rather skip the arak and house wine list. Bookings are recommended given the venue's compact size, and the kitchen also handles takeaway for anyone who'd rather eat the moorish chicken on their own couch.
