Door Knock Sydney, the hidden bar beneath Pitt Street with a French twist
Door Knock isn't just a hidden bar; it's arguably Sydney's most hidden bar. If you can find the York Street entrance, venture underground. Follow the unassuming, candlelit hallway and, just when you start thinking, surely this can't be it? You're probably nearly there. Find the red door, knock three times, then wait. Someone will let you in.
Beyond the door is a cocktail bar that feels like you've stumbled onto one of the city's best-kept secrets. The lighting is low, the booths are made for "one more round", and the cocktails are polished and easy to knock back.
Before long, one drink becomes, "Should we just get a bottle?" especially when happy hour means $99 bottles of Veuve. Pair it with a spread of Euro-inspired share plates, from cheese and charcuterie to lobster rolls and sliders, and you've got every reason to settle in for the night.
