Blackbird is the town’s adored family-owned cafe situated on a cosy side street. With Seven Miles Roasters on pour and a menu of breakfast and lunch dishes inspired by seasonal produce, there’s no surprise why it’s a favourite amongst the locals.

With a menu of breakfast classics, burgers, salads, paninis and weekly specials, there’s something to suit everyone’s tastes. Choose from breakfast staples including Smashed Avo, Corn Fritters, French Toast, Eggs Benny or their popular Truffled Up which is a combination of poached eggs, roasted mushrooms truffle oil and parmesan. 2-Hour Paint & Sip Session at The Sip Studio
The Sip Studio is located just a short 20-minute drive from Thirroul in the heart of Wollongong. This fun and creative space is designed to help you unleash your creativity with a glass in one hand and a paintbrush in the other. The classes are designed for beginners so no experience is needed as one of the teachers guides you step by step through the painting.
You and your friends will enjoy a 120-minute session with the option of BYO booze (valued at $65pp). Choose from a bunch of different artworks to recreate like Mt Fuji, fluffy animals, flamingos, sunflowers or autumn leaves and be taught the tips and tricks by one of the local artists. All the art materials, brushes and aprons will be provided and you will head home with your very own masterpiece on canvas.

3-Course Set Menu With A Spritz On Arrival at Franco Pizza Bar
Franco is Thirroul’s newest Italian restaurant offering an ever-evolving list of antipasti, pizza and Italian-inspired desserts. The menu is constantly evolving to showcase the best local makers and growers, which means you can expect to taste the best of the season with every visit. From the team that was once behind The Wine Library in Woollahra (Owner Sam Jones and Chef Matt Taylor), expect a delicious menu and an impressive wine list to match focusing on natural and minimal intervention varieties from around the globe. This is paired with great service and a buzzing atmosphere on the main street.
You and your friends will enjoy dinner at Franco featuring a spritz of your choice (Aperol, Bizzaro or Yuzu) on arrival, followed by a 3-course set menu (valued at over $80pp). The menu is designed to share in the true spirit of Italian dining and will allow you to taste a selection of Franco’s most popular dishes from the antipasti, pizza and dessert menu.
You’ll begin with dishes like house-made Focaccia, Stracciatella, Proscuitto and Tuna Crudo. You’ll then choose two pizzas for the table which come with crust dippers and a side salad. Pizza choices could include the classics like Margherita, Pepperoni or Funghi, as well as inventive combinations like Southern Calami and Spicy Chorizo, Potato with gorgonzola or Franco with pork fennel sausage and olives. Finish on a sweet note with your choice of their famous Tiramisu with mascarpone cream or a Vanilla Panna Cotta with rhubarb.
