The Art of Hand Chipped Ice Balls at Tokyo Bird ($65)
Learn the art of making ice balls from Tokyo Bird bar manager, Yoshi Onishi. With a smaller overall surface area, larger chunks or balls of ice melt slower than small ice cubes, releasing less water and diluting your drink less. Originating from Japan, the slow-melting qualities of ice balls are embraced by those who enjoy whisky and short cocktails, like an Old Fashioned. Hand-chipping more than 100 balls of ice every week, Yoshi is well placed to teach you how to make ice, carve from a large block and hand-chip blocks into ice balls. At the end of this practical Masterclass, enjoy Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve Scotch Whisky served over your very own hand-chipped ice ball.
