Oh Boy, that’s a good view! Sydney’s harbourside cafe will open with a fresh new look, poolside dining, and a delightful bottomless brunch.
Sydney’s waterfront gem, Oh Boy Café, is all set to unveil its refreshed look on the first day of Spring. This iconic café, nestled alongside Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool, is poised to redefine café culture by the water’s edge, fusing a delightful food and beverage offering with the sun-soaked Sydney lifestyle.
Operated under the visionary guidance of Bird & Bear, a hospitality group synonymous with waterside living, Oh Boy Café is on a mission to make the harbourside experience accessible to all. Their ethos revolves around rejuvenating local landmarks, firmly placing the community at the heart of their endeavor.
The café’s moniker pays homage to Andrew Murray ‘Boy’ Charlton, a revered Freestyle champion whose historic 1924 world record was etched into the very grounds the café now graces. The name also encapsulates the sense of wonder that washes over Sydneysiders as they behold the breathtaking panorama – a sentiment echoed in the exclamation, “Oh Boy, that view!”.
The new culinary offerings span breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Signature delights include the wholesome Chickpea Breakfast Bowl, the hearty Bear Breakfast featuring grilled favourites, and the renowned Bird and Bear Group Egg and Bacon Roll. Lunchtime options are more substantial, from the Crumbed Chicken Schnitzel to the Angus Steak Sandwich, and Spaghetti & Cuttlefish Ragu.
A highlight of the revamped experience is the launch of the Bottomless Brunch, available from Friday to Sunday (11:30am – 3pm) for just $78 per person. This leisurely luncheon offers a selection of dishes accompanied by a continuous pour of mimosas, blanc de blanc, or Rosé. Guests can also dine poolside and have their orders delivered right to their sun loungers.
Complementing the sumptuous fare is the café’s refreshed interior, a tranquil haven that harmonises with the stunning surroundings. Soft terracotta tones and crisp whites mirror the pool’s azure hues, while native flora elements pay homage to the neighbouring Royal Botanic Gardens, seamlessly blending the indoors with the outdoors.
