Surry Hills’ Firedoor Has Launched A Luxe Online Market Of The Venue’s Favourite Dishes

Eat, Restaurants, Sydney / 29 April 2020

Elevate your at-home dining with a serve of delicious ‘almost-ready’ dishes, produce, specialty goods and more from Surry Hills’ Firedoor restaurant.

It’s no secret that the team from Surry Hills’ restaurant Firedoor has a perchance for fire. In fact, that’s the only heat used in their entire kitchen. That’s right, every single dish is touched by the flame of an open fire, with different woods used daily to change the flavours and cooking techniques used in each dish. It’s refined food that doesn’t take itself too seriously (but tastes damn delicious).

While we might not be able to pull up a chair in Firedoor’s dining room for the foreseeable future, we can score a taste of this beloved restaurant at-home. The Firedoor team has just launched a new online marketplace called ‘Fireshop‘. Here, you’ll find a combination of takeaway eats as well as luxe pantry staples to keep you well-fed while practising social distancing.

Firedoor’s ‘almost-ready’ dishes take inspiration from the restaurant’s signature dishes and come ready for home cooks to make a few final preparations to serve and enjoy at home. There’s Firedoor favourites like Pipis with XO and karkalla alongside new additions like Kangaroo sausages with Firedoor bush tomato sauce. The best bit? You’ll have a set of simple instructions to follow along with to easily prepare and serve at home.

Plus, Fireshop is also stocked with a range of Firedoor’s housemade sources along with fresh produce and ingredients sourced from the restaurant’s own suppliers. Expect fresh produce,t, dry goods and pantry staples including sourdough, milk, house-made smoked butter, anchovies and locally sourced eggs. Want to add a bottle of vino to your order? Firedoor will also be opening up its cellar door to enable diners to purchase a bottle at the restaurant upon pick up.

Firedoor’s Fireshop is open now, with a new menu of eats live to order from Thursday afternoons weekly. Order cut-off is the following Tuesday, and orders will be available for collection from the restaurant on Fridays between 2 and 4pm. To find out more, click here.
