Eat Drink Play are looking for a Content Manager to join the Sydney team
Part Time 2 – 3 days/week
Based in Paddington
Are you obsessed with finding the latest new bar, restaurant, local café or must-see exhibition in Sydney? Do you love sharing your discoveries with all of your friends? This might be the job for you. Eat Drink Play is on the hunt for a gun Content Manager to join the team in Sydney. Working alongside our editor you will be responsible for curating the very best things to do in Sydney each week. From writing and sharing hot foodie news to researching and crafting expert feature guides. You’ll have a proven background in content production including creative feature writing and turning around news stories in a timely manner.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this part-time role you’ll work closely with our Editor to write and produce weekly content about the best places to eat, drink, play in Sydney. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Writing stories with a fast turnaround in the style of Eat Drink Play
- Filtering through daily press releases as well as researching the best news stories to write and share with our readers
- Producing regular feature stories and guides
- Managing our team of freelance contributors
- Producing 2 weekly EDMs via Mailchimp
- Scheduling social media content
- Working with our Account Manager to identify potential brand partnerships
- Building relationships with publicists, brands and venues
- Working with our Editor to hit monthly traffic target
- Attending events
Your skills and experience
- Degree in journalism, communications or marketing preferred
- At least 12 months experience in journalism, communications, content marketing, social media or feature writing in the digital space.
- Meticulous attention to detail and sub-editing experience
- A passion for Sydney culture
- Ability to produce quality, well researched content with a fast turnaround in the style of Eat Drink Play
- Great time management
- Ridiculously organised
- Strong social media game- you know how to share a captivating Instastory, compile a coordinated and aesthetically pleasing Instagram feed and can write a witty Facebook caption
- Experience using social media scheduling tools
- Experience working with WordPress and understanding SEO
- Facebook and Google ad experience desirable
- Interest in photography- able to take good food snaps a bonus
