Lost in the F.O.G, Australia’s cult Grenache festival, lands in Sydney for the first time
Lost in the F.O.G Festival of Grenache comes to Sydney for the first time on Saturday 1st August, taking over The Wine Bar at The International in Martin Place for one afternoon only. More than 20 winemakers, over 100 wines and unlimited tastings across some of Australia’s best Grenache producers, followed by an afterparty at Panorama Bar from 5pm.
Now in its fourth year, Lost in the FOG has built a serious following in South Australia, the kind of event people plan weekends around. The Sydney edition brings the full experience to the CBD in a roaming wine festival format, where guests move freely among producers, taste at their own pace, and talk directly to the people who make the wine.
The lineup spans established names and the new wave reshaping Australian Grenache. Alex Head, whose Rhône-inspired approach has helped redefine modern Barossa Grenache through old high-altitude vineyards. Stephen Pannell, widely considered one of Australia’s defining Grenache voices, crafting benchmark wines from McLaren Vale’s best sites. Amelia Nolan of Alkina, working alongside farmed terroir expert Pedro Parra to map vineyards by soil and geology. Bernice Ong of Ministry of Clouds, quietly crafting some of McLaren Vale’s most finely tuned bush vine Grenache. Alongside them: Bekkers, Bondar, Head Wines, John Duval Wines, MMAD Vineyard, JC’s Own, Spinifex, Thistledown, Torbreck, Willunga 100, Yangarra, Cortez Trading Co, Vintage and Vine and more.
