Brendan Pang joins Fabbrica Newtown’s kitchen for one night of Chinese-Italian collaboration
Fabbrica Newtown is thrilled to welcome MasterChef alumni Brendan Pang into the kitchen for one night only. Sydney-based Pang is a chef, author and content creator known for bringing the vibrant flavours of his Chinese-Mauritian heritage to life through easy Asian home cooking, having learned from his beloved Grandmère before competing on MasterChef in 2018 and 2020. Today he has multiple cookbooks to his name, hosts cooking classes, and shares recipes, stories and travel-inspired food with his 1.5 million TikTok and Instagram followers.
Across two sittings, Pang joins Love Tilly Group’s Culinary Director Scott McComas-Williams and Fabbrica Newtown’s Head Chef Keir Ballantyne in the kitchen, blending techniques and ingredients from both Italy and China for a set menu inspired by his Chinese heritage and recent travels to Italy. Expect dishes like Spring Onion Pancake Focaccia with whipped fermented chilli butter, Pork & Ginger Tortellini inspired by the flavours of xiao long bao, Hand-cut Casarecce with blue swimmer crab and XO butter, Tathra Place Pork Neck Char Siu with a brown butter char siu glaze, and Hong Kong Milk Tea Tiramisu to finish. An optional wine pairing will be available on the night, alongside the full wine list.
