If you haven’t noticed the array of South American themed paraphernalia popping up all over Sydney then you probably have no idea about the FIFA World Cup taking place in Brazil at this very moment. Not an avid fan of soccer? Perhaps South American food is more your thing. We’ve put together a guide on where to get amongst the World Cup festivities even if you’re not a sports fan.
Braza Churrascaria
All-you-can-eat Brazillian bbq’s were a huge hit in Sydney about a year ago and thanks to the World Cup they’re back on the scene. Braza Churrascaria in Darling Harbour was the first Cachaca bar to open and is the closest you will get to being in Brazil without leaving Sydney. For $49 you will get served up all-you-can-eat meat whilst viewing all the Brazilian and Australian group matches.
The Forresters
Pizza for breakfast is usually only a hangover cure and is consumed cold but not at The Forresters! Pizza with bacon, egg, sausage, and beans will be served during 8am screenings of Australia games.
The Ship Inn
For the morning matches there’s a $12 big breakfast special of bacon, sausage, beans, toast and coffee plus a Breakfast Bacon pizza (there is a theme emerging amongst these venue.) The Ship’s full menu of toasties and other pizzas will be available too. They will be screening a 8am game each day until June 23.
Good Time Diner
The Bondi Junction burger hot spot has a 4am license and will be showing all 2am games across numerous big screens. The kitchen will be open for midnight burgers and fries!
The Star
The Star Event Centre has been transformed into The Hyundai Fan Park, screening all Socceroo games, semi finals and the grand final in a stadium atmosphere. As well as the games other activities involve live entertainment, Brazilian dancers, music and interactive activities of all kinds.
