The Lord Nelson Celebrates 40 Years of Brewing

The Lord Nelson is raising a glass to 40 years of brewing this October long weekend, from Saturday 3 to Monday 5 October, with three days marking the story that started it all: a group of thirsty sailors drinking the pub completely dry back in 1986, forcing it to start brewing its own beer in-house. Forty years on, natural English-style ales are still crafted onsite from mash tun to tap, unfiltered and unpasteurised.

At the centre of the weekend is a limited-edition English ale brewed a head brewer, unveiled at 11am on Saturday 3 October, with beer lovers invited to christen it through a naming competition. Every 40th beer poured between 11am and 2pm each day is also on the house, while a new Coin Bearers Club launches alongside the celebrations, with just 200 commemorative coins on offer, each unlocking perks including 25% off food on the holder’s birthday and 10% off accommodation across the anniversary year.
