As October comes to an end, one of Sydney’s favourite seasons come to life: Jacaranda season. In fact, the whole state comes alive during the end of spring with these vibrant purple blooms. Whether you’re in the inner city or over the bridge, here are the best spots to find Jacarandas across Sydney.

Camden

Just southwest of Sydney you’ll find a Jacardana hot spot. Get in the car and drive to Argyle Street in Camden to scout out a stunning display of purple blooms. Usually, the town holds its own Jacaranda Festival.

Circular Quay & The Rocks

Closer to the inner city, you’ll find plenty of blooming Jacaranda trees dotted around Circular Quay and the streets of The Rocks. Couple this with sparkling harbour views and you’ve got a beautiful day outdoors in the CBD.

Hunters Hill & The North Shore

Throughout the season, the streets of Hunters Hills come alive with Jacaranda trees. Plus, you’ll also find blooms popping up in other North Shore suburbs including Greenwich, Waverton, Woolwich, Longueville, and Wollstonecraft.

Kirribilli

If you choose to go Jaracaranda spotting at one location this season, make it Kirribilli. This suburb boasts one of the best streets in all of Sydney to see these beautiful blooms: McDougall Street. This stunning flowering arch is a must-see and perfect for that perfect ‘gram.

Lavender Bay

Nearby in Lavender Bay, you’ll also found plenty of Jacaranda trees set against the sparkling harbour foreshore. Plus, this suburb is the perfect spot for a spring or summer picnic too.

Paddington

While Oxford Street might be best known for its great restaurants, bars, and boutiques, you’ll also find plenty of Jacaranda trees too. Plus, head down to the intersection with Glenmore Road for a beautiful floral display this season.

Royal Botanical Gardens

Perfect for an inner city picnic or day out in nature, the Royal Botanic Gardens are a must-see spot during Jacaranda season, too.
