Which hospitality giant is bringing free live music, cheap late night bites and the city’s tiniest disco to the CBD?

The summer, Merivale is calling on Sydneysiders to get out and enjoy the best of our city with a jam-packed program of events, offers and new openings.

As summer heats up, we’re all searching for the best spots to cool off and kickback. For many of us, that means flocking to the waterfront and escaping the concrete jungle that is the CBD. But this season, the crew from hospitality heavyweight Merivale are giving you plenty of reason to linger in the city a little longer than usual.

Merivale’s This Is Sydney summer event program has just launched, calling on Sydney locals to reconnect with the best spots in the CBD. The program comes in response to the growing desire among locals and venue owners alike to revive and rebuild the world-class destinations that make Sydney’s nightlife one-of-a-kind. For CEO Justin Hemmes the campaign is set to celebrate the CBD’s late-night offering, as he explains, “‘This is Sydney’ is fuelled by a desire and passion to make Sydney the best place it can possibly be, with great food, live music, dancing, excitement and surprise every night of the week. Let’s get out, have fun and enjoy our spectacular city.”

Merivale This Is Sydney 2019

This summer, Merivale has teamed up with The Music and Booze Co. to deliver a curated line-up of free music experiences in the CBD. From afternoon piano sessions at Establishment to live music afternoons at the Pool Club, expect new shows with talent locally and abroad popping up each week. Speaking of live music, the Merivale crew are also launching the CBD’s tiniest disco every Thursday and Friday afternoon at Will & Co on George Street. Disco Espresso will be headed up by larger-than-life disco duo The Dollar Bin Darlings, with tunes, mirror balls and booze pouring from 5pm.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you’ll even be able to score a cheap feed from some of Merivale’s top CBD spots. From now until the end of summer, enjoy 50% off all bar food across the group’s CBD bars (available 11-12pm, Tuesday to Saturday). Flock to Palings, Establishment Main Bar, Slip Inn, Pool Club, Palmer & Co., Bar Topa, Little Felix and Charlie Parker’s to take advantage of this offer.

Plus, Merivale isn’t slowing down with news just announced of Bar Totti’s on Palings Lane. Taking inspiration from the group’s much-loved eatery at The Royal Bondi, this new venue will be led by Mike Eggert, serving up his famed wood-fired bread and antipasto. Plus, Jimmy’s Falafel is set to open soon on George Street, bringing a casual Lebanese eatery and bar lead by head chef Simon Zalloua. Swing by for takeaway eats from the front kiosk or head inside to the bar for mezze-shared plates. Plus, keep an eye out for Little Felix joining Merivale’s iconic ivy precinct in July 2020.
