Lenny 3206, Albert Park

Cafes, Eat, Melbourne / 18 July 2019

Sneak a little sunshine into your brunch at Albert Park’s Lenny 3206 cafe.

If grey skies and freezing mornings are killing your vibe this winter, steal a little bit of sunshine and get your vitamin D hit at Albert Park’s sunny and light filled Lenny 3206. With brunch staples as well as outside-the-box menu options, there’ll be something for everyone when you next hit up Victoria Ave for your caffeine fix.

While Port Melbourne and St Kilda get a lot of seaside love when it comes to cafes and brunch spots, Albert Park’s chilled out vibe has become increasingly popular, with plenty of tucked away gems. Lenny 3206 certainly delivers in both atmosphere and delicious dishes from their enviable corner location.

With the sort of dreamy high ceilings that you only find in heritage spaces, and wall to wall windows, even on the greyest of Melbourne days Lenny is flooded with natural light that will warm those chilly bones. The aesthetic is light and airy – a clean white palate with pops of pastels, curved wood, and wicker furniture that subtly hints at the venue’s beachy location – while large umbrellas shading the outdoor tables embrace the locale with a little bit of an old school corner store vibe.

If you love brunch classics – you know, your smashed avo and co – then Lenny’s menu will hit the spot, with plenty of familiar foodie favourites served in generous portion sizes. If you’re looking for something a little different, then the team have you covered there too with menu items like duck & waffle – think slow cooked, super tender duck leg served atop a fluffy, savoury cheese and herb waffle, paired with juniper infused maple and a perfectly fried egg. If you like Asian inspired dishes, try the bao with buttermilk fried chicken and kimchi, or a healthy sushi bowl packed with all your favourite Japanese flavours – sesame, wasabi, ginger, and of course, Kewpie.

The littles wont go hungry at Lenny 3206, with the Kid’s hotcakes serving up fluffy hotcakes topped with vanilla bean ice cream, fresh berries, maple, and the vital component of every kid’s dream food pyramid: hundreds and thousands. For juniors who are seeking a simple and yummy tuck in, the Vegemite and cheese toasty will warm a little Aussie tummy.

Lenny 3206 also has plenty of gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options, making it the perfect place to meet up with the whole squad for a long, lazy breakfast or lunch as you watch the world bustling by from your warm, sunny seat. The grilled banana and walnut bread with rich and creamy vanilla marscapone, mixed berries, and maple syrup will be a winner with those avoiding gluten, while the tropical smoothie bowl will win over your vegan mates.
