Alex Adams (Ms Darlinghurst) began writing about her drink and dine experiences in 2009. Readers followed her culinary adventures through cafes, restaurants and bars sharing experiences along the way.

Searching for new ways to connect with food lovers off-line Alex started Secret Foodies in April 2010. Inspired by guerrilla dining abroad and wanting to showcase Sydney’s food scene this was the perfect way to meet fellow foodies and try new places. Secret Foodies has since hosted over 250 events popping up in numerous top restaurants as well as random locations including rooftops, laneways, warehouses and even a heritage listed barn. Secret Foodies also host regular events in Melbourne as of 2013 and create bespoke private event experiences for clients. In July 2016 Secret Foodies also launched in Queensland.

Ms Darlinghurst is a journalism graduate from Macquarie University, Sydney and has written for a number of publications including the Sydney Morning Herald, AskMen.com and TimeOut Sydney. She’s been a food and drinks commentator for various radio stations as well as Channel 10 news. She’s also regularly MCs both corporate and charity events. Having studied TV presenting at NIDA Alex has done various on-camera cameos for the likes of MTV, Expedia, Foxtel Lifestyle and more.
