Party on with these amazing Dry July mocktails

There’s nothing dry about Dry July when water is not the only non-alcoholic beverage on offer. This July, fit into that dinner party in style. Ditch the H2O on ice with lime and get out your mocktail shaker. By the end of this article, you’ll have the skills to create three Dry July mocktails that even Charlie Ainsbury would mistake for the real deal, plus your fellow dinner party guests are going to be boozing with envy.

But first, let’s talk about the serious side to Dry July. I could tell you the statistics, but instead I’m going to replay how Ambassador ‘Fast’ Ed Halmagyi kicked off the Dry July Mocktail Masterclass last week.

“Has anybody here had cancer?” A few people raised their hand, including Ed himself.

“Has anybody here had an immediate member of their circle suffer cancer?” A significant number more raised their hand.

“Has anyone here had an extended member of their circle suffer from cancer? For example, a grandparent.” Rest of room raised their hand.

To me, seeing a room full of people with their arm raised hit home harder than Cancer Council Australia’s “1 in 2 Australian men and 1 in 3 Australian women will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85”. Let’s not dismiss that statistic though, it’s real.

Dry July raises money to ease the burden, reduce stress and add a bit of comfort to those affected by cancer. Everything they fund is to benefit the cancer patient, their families and carers. They aim to make a difficult time, a little easier.
