Cuckoo Callay, Surry Hills
Flock to the heart of Crown Street to discover one of Sydney’s best dog-friendly eateries. Cuckoo Callay is a destination for die-hard coffee lovers and brunch-loving Sydneysiders alike, boasting a menu packed with innovation takes on classic brekkie and lunch favourites. Expect everything from ‘I’m Just Bananas Over You’ house banana oat bread served with raspberry ricotta and thyme honey ($11) to ‘Gorgeous Jorge’ featuring smashed spiced avocado, confit tomatoes, shanklish, basil pesto, finger lime, hazelnut & pistachio dukkah and balsamic vinegar pearls served on sourdough with a 63° poached egg ($24) and even their creative ‘Pimp Mi Goreng’ with Mi Goreng chicken thigh with maple bacon, house-made kimchi, avocado and coriander aioli on a pretzel burger bun ($23). The best bit? They’ve also got a dedicated dog menu (seriously) featuring house-made maple bacon dog treats ($3) and puppachinos made with goats milk and crushed liver treats ($3).

Dachshund Coffee, Hunters Hill
Tucked away in The Hills’ district you’ll find a local neighbourhood gem the welcomes creatures of all shapes and sizes. Daschund Coffee is a sustainably-driven kitchen and specialty coffee shop with a menu showcasing the best of nourishing local produce. With a belief in the benefits of a plant-based diet for our health and the planet, you’ll find everything from poke bowls to smashed avo and hearty rolls and sandwiches on this menu. While not everything on the menu is vegan or entirely plant-based, you’ll find a stellar selection of vegan-friendly options alongside cafe classics like bacon and egg rolls and meat-heavy sambos on the menu. Porch & Parlour, Bondi

Since 2010, Porch and Parlour has been a cafe favourite among dog owners and Bondi locals alike. Brunch is what this team does best, along with an all-day menu and summer dinner offering complete with a great glass of wine. Rollers Bakehouse, Manly
Heading out for a morning pastry and coffee (with pup in tow, of course) is one of the best ways to kick start the weekend. And what better place to head than this beachside bakery, Rollers Bakehouse. This hot new player has taken Manly locals by storm, serving a simple menu of twice-baked croissants, pastries and bottomless batch brew coffee. The menu of baked goods changes regularly here depending on what new recipes the team are trying out, along with popcorn granola and ‘The Patti’, a guinnes loaf with house churned butter, rock salt and olive oil.

Henry Lee’s, Redfern
It might be tucked away in the backstreets of Redfern, but Henry Lee’s is worth taking the trip to discover. The boundary-pushing concept kitchen has transformed Sydney’s new arts and culture hub in Redfern into an all-day dining destination, perfect to bring your pup to as well. Stroll through to their urban courtyard and soak in the beauty of this light-filled open air space with an ever-changing menu championing artisanal, small-batch producers. 212 Blu, Newtown
The Inner West boasts no shortage of dog-friendly pubs, and this venue is perfect for those looking for the perfect spot to bring their pooch before the booze comes out. Perched on Australia Street (and just around the corner from the leafy dog-friendly Camperdown Park) you’ll find 212 Blu. This neighbourhood cafe is a beloved spot serving Newtown locals and visitors alike, serving a classic mix of toasties, granola and their classic 212 board with chorizo, haloumi and chilli jam. Head to their back courtyard to nab a seat in the sunshine with your pooch or take a seat on their front bench to watch the world go by.
