Young Gun of Wine’s free virtual wine masterclass series
Young Gun of Wine is a team all about celebrating emerging wine producers. For the past 14 years, the team has hosted the ‘Top 50 Winemakers’ awards, a chance to showcase the innovative and diverse talent that exists in winemaking across Australia. But in 2020, things are a little different. There’s no in-persona Top 50 tasting events. Instead, they’re moving events online with their first-ever virtual events series.
Kicking off in May 2020, Young Gun of Wine’s virtual events series delivers seven experiential wine tastings with the Top 50 winemakers of 2020. These digital sessions run for 1 hour and give attendees a chance to hear directly from winemakers and wine experts during each live broadcast.
Each masterclass session will focus on a specific winemaking region, including the Margaret River, Adelaide Hills, and the Yarra Valley. Plus, they will tackle topics and wine varietals such as pinot noir, alternative varieties and even the oh-so-popular pet-nats.
For those that would like to take part, you’ll be able to purchase the wines in advance (with curated selections of mixed six-packs and mixed dozens available to be purchased from Australia’s leading fine wine retailer, Langton’s here). Two wines from each of the mixed packs will feature in each virtual event.
