Winter Wonderland

Festivals, Play, Sydney / 23 June 2015

Head down to Winter Wonderland for a spot of good old cold-weather fun in the heart of Sydney. At the foot of the iconic St Mary’s Cathedral, Winter Wonderland will be delivering indoor and outdoor warmth and cheer every night from June 19th to July 19th.

The Cafe Del Mar Garden Lounge Bar is there for all your alcoholic (and chocolate-covered churro) needs. You can relax in front of the fire with the Fire On Ice professional skaters there for your entertainment.
Winter-Wonderland-3
We caught up with Rod Stoller on the opening night, the man responsible for building the ice rink that dominates Winter Wonderland. It took him four days to build, with a complex network of antifreeze pipes to make sure the ice doesn’t melt. The night before, he stayed up for twelve hours to layer on the ice, giving you the best rink experience possible.

You can try out the rink yourself, or stop at one of the numerous pop-up food stalls if you prefer dry land. Sip on your hot chocolate with a bite from Agape Organic Food, Teppanyaki Noodles, Authentic Turkish Gozeme, German Sausage Hut or Woodstax Pizzas.
