CHEERS! Spirits from the USA is presenting a series of virtual experiences to celebrate Bourbon Heritage Month!
Every September, Bourbon enthusiasts stock up their liquor cabinet to celebrate America’s native spirit. Although Bourbon Heritage Month is more commonly observed in America, ‘Cheers! Spirits from the USA’ is bringing the celebrations to Australia with a series of virtual drinking experiences. Adults bound to their homes will be able to brush up on their Bourbon knowledge with talks from renowned brands including Woodford Reserve and Wild Turkey. You’ll also be able to enter the competition to WIN one of 6 Wild Turkey tasting kits alongside the Guided Bourbon Tasting Experience.
Week One (Thursday 9th September) – Wild Turkey: A Guided Bourbon Tasting Experience
To kick off the festivities, Wild Turkey is taking you on a virtual trip to Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, home of the Wild Turkey Distillery. Enjoy an audio tasting experience with the legendary Russell family including Master Distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell, as well as Hollywood star and Wild Turkey Creative Director Matthew McConaughey. To activate this experience all you need to do is say “Alexa, enable Wild Turkey Tasting” or “Hey Google, talk to Wild Turkey Tasting”. If you don’t have a smart speaker, you can download the app for your smartphone.
Week Two (Thursday 16th September) – Woodford Reserve: How to master the perfect Old Fashioned
Old Fashioned lovers are in for a treat with an immersive session from Woodford Reserve. You will taste a selection of their signature whiskeys and learn about food pairings to accentuate the flavours of each. You’ll receive a tasting kit with Woodford Reserve samples, as well as syrup to help you make a delicious Old Fashioned Cocktail.
Week Three (Thursday 23rd September) – Old Forester: Discover the 151-Year Legacy Behind the World’s first Bottled Bourbon
Next up, Old Forester will take you for a revolutionary experience sharing all the key milestones of Bourbon that you should know. This is the perfect opportunity to learn about the brand that revolutionized the Bourbon sector through its innovation and commitment to quality. You will receive a tasting kit with a range of Old Forester samples to enjoy during the event.
Week Four (Thursday 30th September) – The Experimental Side of Bourbon and What’s Ahead
Through this intimate event, you’ll have the opportunity to hear from leading Bourbon experts about some of the world’s most experimental expressions and the future of the sector. You will receive a tasting kit showcasing some of the most innovative and rare American whiskies. Mash bills, wood finishes and different mellowing processes will help you discover new variants of Bourbon.
