Whisky & Cheese, an unexpected liaison.
Calling all lovers of whisky, cheese and everything that is fine. Local Balmain venue, Wilhelmina is hosting a Whisky & Cheese event on Wednesday 22nd February starting at 6.30pm. This neighbourhood bar and restaurant specialises in seasonal, produce driven dishes designed to share and has grown to become one of the best restaurants in Balmain. With a focus on Australian wines and beverages, their drinks list features more than 60 different brands, and the venue pays host to monthly tastings of the menu.
Their Whisky & Cheese event will be hosted alongside one of Sydney’s whisky greatest nerds, Michael Nouri. His renowned charismatic personality and passion for fine spirits has taken him on several mighty travels, educating people from all over the world on the smooth part-time lover that is whisky.
Drops from the “Peated Malts of Distinction” range and a collection of drams with prominent smokey characteristics will be served alongside an array of Australian cheeses. Everything on the menu has been hand-picked and paired by Nouri himself, along with Wilhelmina’s very own Mikey Hamilton.
Never thought to pair whisky with cheese? You haven’t lived! Embark upon a journey and discover this perfect combo. It’s bound to leave you wondering why you ever had the nerve to mix your Jack with Coke and eat your cheese on toast.
All tastings at Wilhelmina’s and The Whisky Co-Op are casual, informative and fun. You don’t need to be a whisky expert to come along, everyone is welcome to this event.
Combining two of our absolute life necessities, Whisky & Cheese is a one-night-only experience. Did we hear someone faint from the overwhelming thought of missing out? The session will run from 6.30-8.30pm.
