What’s On In Sydney This Mardi Gras

Play / 3 February 2026

Sydney in Mardi Gras season is pure electricity.

The city comes alive with colour, creativity and community, where long lunches turn into late nights and every corner feels like a celebration. From drag brunches and parade-side parties to the iconic Fair Day and the ultimate after-dark dancefloor, here’s your guide to what not to miss this Mardi Gras.

The Winery: Bottomless Drag Brunch

Parade Day | Saturday 28th February, 11:30am – 4:30pm

If you like your Parade Day loud, sparkly and fuelled by bottomless drinks, The Winery’s Bottomless Drag Brunch is the place to start. For $99 per person, guests are treated to 90 minutes of bottomless beverages, a shared brunch menu and outrageous drag performances that lean fully into camp before noon.

Each session is hosted by two drag queens serving lip-syncs, live numbers and plenty of banter, with six booking slots available throughout the day. It’s high-energy, unapologetic and perfectly placed to set the tone for a full day of Mardi Gras celebrations. Bookings are essential.

A Full-Blown Mardi Gras HQ at Taphouse

Right on the parade path and buzzing all festival long, Taphouse Darlinghurst is firmly established as a Mardi Gras headquarters. The celebrations kick off early with Karaoke Queens on Friday 13th February, a free, joy-filled singalong dedicated to love-song classics from Whitney, Cher, Madonna and Gaga.

The cult-favourite Big Drag Brunch returns on Saturdays 21st and 28th February, pairing a cocktail on arrival with 2.5 hours of flowing drinks, a shared Chinese banquet and powerhouse performances from some of Sydney’s most loved queens. Throughout the festival, the Sip & Slay Bottomless Package runs daily for $99 per person, while Drag Trivia, Drag Bingo and a free Parade Day party (walk-ins only) keep the energy sky-high from day to night.

Sydney Fair Day & Parade

Fair Day | Sunday 15th February 2026
Parade | Saturday 28th February 2026

Two of Sydney’s most cherished LGBTQIA+ events return under the 2026 theme ECSTATICA. Fair Day takes over Victoria Park on Sunday 15th February, offering an all-ages, all-day celebration filled with live performances, community stalls and an atmosphere that perfectly captures the heart of Mardi Gras.

The world-famous Parade follows on Saturday 28th February, transforming Oxford Street, Flinders Street and Anzac Parade into a moving celebration of visibility, protest and self-expression. It’s joyous, powerful and uniquely Sydney, a night that defines the city’s cultural calendar year after year.

HEAPS GAY Mardi Gras Afterparty

When the parade wraps up, HEAPS GAY takes over Manning Bar for one of the biggest and boldest afterparties of the night. Known for its inclusive dancefloors, high-energy DJs and crowd that knows how to celebrate, this is where Parade Day turns into Parade Night.

Kicking off at 9pm, the HEAPS GAY Mardi Gras Afterparty is all about letting loose, dancing hard and keeping the Mardi Gras magic alive well into the early hours. Tickets are available now, and if history is anything to go by, they won’t last long.
