Play / 22 October 2025

From candlelit concerts to neon nightmares and tequila-fuelled fiestas, Sydney is turning up the scare factor this spooky season.

Halloween in Sydney is no longer just about costumes and candy, it’s a full-blown festival of food, music, and eerie fun. Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly fright night, a rooftop brunch under the moonlight, or something more spine-chilling (like hearing The Exorcist theme live), there’s something for every ghoul, ghost, and glam-pire in town. Here’s your guide to the best Halloween happenings lighting up the city this October.

Untied: Brunch After Dark

Sydney’s first Bottomless Halloween Night Brunch is landing at Untied, and it’s serving rooftop glamour with a side of fright. For $99pp, enjoy two hours of bottomless spritzers, wine, and spirits paired with themed share plates like charcoal-bun sliders, fiery “trick or heat” wings, and loaded “fright night” fries. From 6–9pm, Barangaroo’s skyline sets the backdrop for eerie beats and killer costumes.

Woollahra Hotel: Festival of Frights

This Halloween, Woollahra Hotel is blending fright with flavour for a Festival of Frights that runs all weekend long. In collaboration with Casamigos, the venue is serving up tequila-fuelled cocktails and street-style tacos inspired by Día de los Muertos. Expect live mariachi bands on Friday, costume contests, and terrace DJs spinning into the night. Don’t miss the El Pollo Diablo tacos or a Smoke & Bones mezcal cocktail, they’re as fiery as they sound.

Candlelight: Warner Bros. Horror Classics

For one night only, Sydney’s St Stephen’s Uniting Church will glow with thousands of candles as a live string quartet performs hauntingly beautiful renditions of horror film scores. Candlelight: Warner Bros. Horror Classics brings to life music from The Shining, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Conjuring Universe and more, all under flickering candlelight. It’s the perfect way to celebrate Halloween for movie lovers and music buffs alike.
