Martha Stewart Joins Vivid Sydney 2025 for an Exclusive In Conversation Event

/ 21 March 2025

Vivid Sydney returns in 2025 with its biggest program yet, transforming the city from May 23rd to June 14th under the theme Dream.

Emmy Award-winning television host and best-selling author of over 100 books, Martha Stewart will headline a one-off In Conversation event as part of Vivid Sydney on Wednesday 28th May. The discussion will offer insights into her remarkable career, the evolution of her personal brand, and the ever-changing world of food, design and home living.

In Conversation with Martha Stewart will take place on Wednesday, May 28th, at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney. Tickets are on sale today, Friday April 4 from 9am AEDT, via vividsydney.com.

The festival spans five key zones—Circular Quay and The Rocks, Barangaroo, Martin Place and the CBD, Darling Harbour, and The Goods Line—offering a full calendar of light, music, ideas and food.

Returning to the program for the first time since 2018, Martin Place will host Vivid Sydney Dinners, which are curated by Nigella Lawson, held in a purpose-built glasshouse. The series will spotlight boundary-pushing chefs, wines, and storytelling-driven menus.

Highlights from the 2025 Program

  • Light: Expect a city aglow with large-scale installations and interactive works. The Sydney Opera House will feature Kiss of Light, a tribute to the late Australian artist David McDiarmid, while Vincent Namatjira’s King Dingo lights up the MCA. Over at Customs House, fashion label Romance Was Born presents House of Romance. The always-popular Vivid Light Walk returns—free and immersive—with everything from voice-activated animations to AI-generated 3D projections.

  • Music: The festival expands to new stages, including City Recital Hall and Metro Theatre. Free outdoor gigs at Tumbalong Park will bring the crowds, alongside collaborative events with Sydney Writers’ Festival, Sydney Film Festival, and leading cultural institutions.

  • Ideas: Alongside Martha Stewart’s appearance, Vivid Ideas hosts speakers such as the Creative Director of TIME Magazine and the team behind Stranger Things: The Experience, bridging storytelling, design, and pop culture.

With over 75% of the program free, Vivid Sydney 2025 continues its mission to bring ambitious, world-class creativity to all corners of the city—whether you’re wandering through a glowing laneway or catching a rare conversation with one of the world’s most recognisable icons.
