The Ultimate Date Night During Vivid

Sydney / 4 June 2018

Take your regular dinner and drinks routine to new heights with this ultimate date night plan during Vivid.

For many of us, date night is a prized time, allowing you to forgo your daily stresses and spend some precious time with your significant other. With Vivid here, it’s time to amp up your regular dinner and drinks routine with this epic date night idea. Thank us later.

Start with an evening Sydney BridgeClimb Session

Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge is on plenty of peoples’ bucket lists, but have you ever considered doing a night time Climb? The Vivid Climb is the perfect excuse to finally tick this off! Running exclusively during Vivid Sydney, punters are able to watch Sydney come alive and enjoy the light installations around the harbour from this particularly unique vantage point. Running from 25th May and 16th June 2018, you and your date will get to wear a flashing Vivid Climb vest, plus climb the Bridge above the striking lights. Not only this, you’ll also get the chance to bust out your best 70s dance moves, as the bridge transforms into a pop up multi-coloured flashing dance floor.

Head to Opera Bar for a round of cocktails

Tucked away in an unassuming lane off Pitt Street is Tapa Vino. This Spanish tapas bar is only a 10 minute leisurely stroll from Opera Bar, serving up a mouth watering array of delights including charcuterie, crispy potato skins, braised beef cheeks, oysters, burrata and plenty more. A combination of intimate hues and cosy furnishings will ease you into a romantic date night only too quickly. Be sure to dabble in the wine list, it features plenty of Spanish drops including a range oh-so-drinkable Tempranillos.

Take a stroll around Circular Quay

Make your way up to The Royal Botanic Garden and check out Oasis.

Finish dessert at Bennelong Restaurant

Finish off your ultimate date night with a splash of luxury at Bennelong Sydney. Peter Gilmore’s brainchild is an iconic Sydney dining spot, situated in the heart of the harbour. Fix yourself a seat at the bar and dive head first into the dessert menu. You’ll find crowd pleasers such as pavlova, cherry jam lamington and chocolate cake – all served with a highly modernised twist. If sweets don’t take your fancy, the cocktail list is equally spectacular.
