Fireworks, soaring scores and a stage over the water.
Sydney’s most iconic outdoor stage is set for a show-stopping return as The Phantom of the Opera arrives at Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour. Running from 27th March to 3rd May at Fleet Steps, this 40th anniversary production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s global phenomenon transforms the harbour into a dazzling open-air theatre.
This larger-than-life staging reimagines the classic tale of the masked Phantom and his obsession with a young soprano, set against Sydney’s glittering skyline. Expect all the iconic moments—from the candlelit journey to the Phantom’s lair to the dramatic chandelier—elevated with bold set design and lavish costumes. With a live orchestra hidden beneath the stage, themed pop-up bars and dining, plus fireworks lighting up the harbour each night, it’s a theatrical experience that goes far beyond the ordinary.
