The Morrison’s annual Oyster Festival is back for a ‘shucking’ good time.
Our love for this culinary jewel of the sea is all too real, and now the Morrison is celebrating the humble oyster in all of its glory with a month long festival. Returning this August for the 7th consecutive year, the Morrison’s Oyster Festival promises a shucking good time with oyster specials every night of the week.
With Executive Chef Sean Connolly at the helm, you can feast on array of bespoke oyster dishes, including chicken fried oyster sliders, grilled Pacifics ‘in shell’ with soy broth, oyster and leek chowder and an oh-so-decadent dish of southern fried oysters with slow cooked pork belly.
The Morrison know the way to our hearts with $1.50 Oyster Hour available from 6-7pm every evening throughout the festival. With strictly no bookings taken, you’ll want to slide in a little earlier to secure a spot. Hot tip – just for ordering a drink at the bar before 5:30pm, you’ll be given a pass to jump the queue.
The pearl in the crown of this culinary festival, Oysters and Bottomless Bubbles, is also back in 2019. Running every weekend throughout the month, slurp down a dozen oysters with unlimited sparkling wine for two hours, priced at just $55pp. Bookings are recommended to enjoy this decadent experience.
Sean Connolly explains his inspiration behind The Morrison’s Oyster Festival: “Oyster Festival is where we recognise the incredible oysters that Aussie farmers lovingly grow around our coastline. This is our seventh year running, with the humble oyster being one of my ultimate favourite foods. Sustainable, layered with unique complex flavours, it’s an honour to work with such fantastic local produce.”
At a time when factory farming methods are threatening the environment, The Morrison is proud to pioneer locally-sourced oysters – one of the most sustainable animal proteins on the planet. The festival sets sail on Thursday 1st August and runs until Saturday 31st August.
