Whether you’re squeezing in a post-work surf or heading out for a cheeky mid-week dinner, there are plenty of ways to keep the holiday vibes going. And now, we’ve found the perfect summer pop-up event to add to your radar.
Say hello to The Garden Social, the pop-up foodie and muso event hosted at the Royal Botanic Garden this summer. Running for 24 days and nights (from January 6th to February 14th, 2022), the event will be delivering delicious food, drinks, and live music.
Grab your picnic rug (or nab a seat on a lawn chair or bean bag) and enjoy the lush surrounds of The Garden Social this summer. With prime views of the stunning Sydney Harbour and iconic Opera House, this is the perfect spot to kick back and toast to the summer months.
As for food, The Garden Social will rotate the menu each week. Expect dishes including Beer Battered Flathead with shoestring fries and chunky tartare (week one), Pork & Prawn Dumplings with crispy shallots and soy, sesame and ginger dressing (week two), Crispy Chicken Burger with iceberg lettuce and chilli aioli (week three), Chunky Beef Pie with mushy peas and gravy (week five), Truffle Mushroom Gnocchi with reduced cream and shaved parmesan (week six) and so much more.
Plus, you’ll be able to wash it all down with a refreshing cocktail, beer, wine or non-alcoholic option. Cocktail highlights include the Mediterranean G&T with Tanqueray London Dry, Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic and grapefruit, the Lime Yuzu Soda with Ketel One Vodka, Fever-Tree Lime and Yuzu Soda and lime, as well as the Dry Ginger Ale with Johnnie Walker Black Label, Fever-Tree Dry Ginger Ale and lime.
As you’d expect, live music also takes centre stage at this pop-up event. Enjoy live tunes from Sydney’s talented musicians, from jazzy mellow notes to upbeat funky chords. Anjali Raj will be delivering her smooth, dance, pop and RnB vocals, Club Sol duo Luke Antony and Kyle Mguire will bring the funky soul and house sounds, Beatnix will showcase a polished blend of arrangements amid improvised jams and originals, and Hayley Teal Duo, popular vocalist from X factor & Dancing with the Stars will being soothing serenades. And that’s just to name a few!
