Located in the heart of Surry Hills is where you’ll find popular restaurant, The Devonshire. With mirrors of all shapes and sizes on one side and black textured walls on the other, this narrow 60-seater restaurant creates an intimate and sophisticated dining space. The striking black light fixtures contrast against the white tablecloths and create a warm environment for a business meeting or a long ladies lunch.
We recently tried their Prixe Fixe lunch menu, available every Friday. For just $35 you can enjoy an entree, main and dessert from a menu that changes weekly. If you’re in for the long haul, sit back and try their a la Carte menu or 8-course Degustation.
The Devonshire’s Prixe Fixe lunch was featured in the 2014 Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide and a few weeks ago included in SMH Good Food as one of the best quick lunches in Sydney.
Head Chef Jeremy Bentley (formerly of The Square in London and Restaurant Balzac), is the man behind the menu. He creates new dishes, all of which are inspired by seasonal produce and reflect the Devonshire’s own take on contemporary cooking in Surry Hills. Their mantra is to combine quality produce alongside inventive dishes at an affordable price.
As the menu changes each week, the menu we sampled would have changed by now so check the Devonshire’s Facebook page for the weekly menu.
