Head To The Burdekin’s Revamped Rooftop Bar To Score $5 Happy Hour Drinks

Bars, Drink, Sydney / 15 February 2021

The iconic Oxford Street pub, The Burdekin, reveals its epic level five rooftop bar with happy hour drinks.

Sydney, we know you love a rooftop bar. In fact, we have an entire guide dedicated to just that, revealing the top rooftop bars to visit in Sydney. And now, we’ve got a new venue to add to your radar.

The Burdekin isn’t a new name in Sydney’s drinking and dancing scene. The institutional pub has been a go-to destination for late-night techno parties and queer club nights. And now, The Burdekin has an extra level of fun that has been opened to the public for the first time ever.

Following the repeal of the final stages of the lockout laws last month, The Burdekin was given the green light to open its rooftop to punters. Take the pub’s elevator to level five and you’ll arrive at this relaxed rooftop space, complete with an open-air terrace and charming elements of the rooftop’s industrial exterior.

And it’s worth a visit, with this top-notch rooftop giving you access to prime views across Darlinghurst, Kings Cross, and even across to the CBD skyline. Best of all, it’s the kind of venue that welcomes everyone with open arms, from the LBGTQIA+ community to punters grabbing a post-work drink.

So, what can you expect on the menu at The Burdekin’s rooftop? There’s a hilarious cocktail list with mixes like “The Slutty Mermaid” and “the Pink Flamingo” on the list (inspired by ultra-camp retro flicks).

There’s a stack of great wines, including a few vegan and natural drops on their list as well as house tap beers and craft brews on their taps.

Don’t miss The Burdekin’s happy hour (running weekdays from 4 to 6 pm), where you’ll score a house beer, wine, or spirits from just $5.

There’s also a delicious food menu to chow down on too, including modern public classics with an Italian twist. Nab a cheese and charcuterie board, a plate of burrata, pizza, or even a classic pub schnitty.
