For a Christmas celebration with a Thai twist, KITCHAI is serving up two festive banquets perfect for group gatherings and family feasts. Each menu is packed with flavour, featuring crispy spring rolls, satay chicken skewers, prawn rice paper rolls, fragrant curries, and whole barramundi topped with mango and green apple salad.

There are two options to choose from: the Holiday Spread ($168, minimum 4 people), or the Festive Feast ($324, minimum 6 people), which adds a sweet finale of mango black sticky rice, fried ice cream, and Thai coconut pudding. A festive month begins as The Story of Christmas returns to NEL, the annual culinary celebration from acclaimed chef Nelly Robinson. This year, diners can expect a dazzling 12-course degustation that unwraps the magic of the season through food, combining nostalgic flavours, reimagined classics, and forgotten traditions from across the globe.

Highlights include Summer Pine, a savoury pineapple, green chilli and coriander sorbet wrapped in dolmades leaf, and Noel Terrine, a rich French-inspired duck terrine layered with foie gras, truffled chicken mousse and blueberry jelly. To finish, the Cherry & Custard Tart brings Christmas comfort to the table, topped with mulled cherries and a dusting of icing sugar “snow.” Priced at $195pp, the experience can be paired with a $165pp wine journey or a $95pp non-alcoholic pairing.

Christmas at Gowings is a celebration of flavour, flair, and pure holiday indulgence. This year’s menu unfolds like a festive storybook, beginning with a sparkling trio of cured salmon topped with roe, oysters Venetian, and reggiano with olives and grissini. Seasonal entrées follow in full flourish,  bresaola with figs and goat’s curd, burrata paired with peach and heirloom tomato, and king prawns dressed in citrus mayonnaise. The main event brings a touch of theatre to the table with duck breast on beetroot–blackberry purée, barramundi lifted by golden raisin and pine nuts, and a lamb rack brightened with salmoriglio and lemon, all served alongside duck fat potatoes and a crisp mignonette cos salad.
