Get a taste of the countryside in the city at Taste Orange
Returning to Sydney on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd September, for its fifth year running is the Taste Orange @ Sydney festival. A celebration of Orange’s quality cool climate wines, food, fresh produce and lifestyle will be showcased right in the heart of Martin Place. Immerse yourself in the culture and flavours of this beautiful regional NSW town and find out why Orange really is the new black.
Local Orange foodies The Agrestic Grocer will be serving up some authentic country fare with delicious dishes such as the wild mushroom, lemon thyme, feta and porcini salt pie as well as their venison knuckle sandwich with beetroot chips and badlands beer jam.
What’s wine tasting without some cheese and nibbles? The Second Mouse Cheese Company will take care of that with their hand crafted and locally made cheese. Round off your country cuisine experience with some sweet treats. Chateau du Chocolat will have chocolate eclairs, doughnuts and cupcakes galore on offer while The Manildra Group will have delicious desserts up for grabs like their Nashdale Apple and Rhubarb Crumble and Sticky Borenore Carrot Cake.
You’ll of course be able to wash all those tasty treats down with a selection of Orange’s cool climate wines from any one of their 17 premium and award winning vineyards. Celebrating their 20th year of being officially recognised as a wine growing region means you’ll be in for some very tasty and well prepared vino.
A visit to Taste Orange @ Sydney will give you the chance to get a little taste of Orange’s amazing wines ahead of the Orange Wine Festival which runs from 14-30 October. An outdoor sunken hotel lobby lounge hosted by theOrange Accommodation Group will entice guests at Taste Orange @ Sydney to sit back and relax, browse through tourism and food and wine guides, and start planning their next visit to Orange.
Entry is free into the event. If you’re feeling organised though you have the option to pre purchase a wine tasting pack for wine tasting at the event. Wine tasting packs are $40 and include a free branded wine glass plus 10 tasting tickets.
