Taco + Vino Potts Point, the taco bar Kellett Street deserves
Taco+Vino Potts Point is the Mexico City-style taquería doing what most Mexican restaurants in Sydney won’t. Chef Pablo Galindo keeps it stripped back: premium Australian rib-eye and Wagyu, fresh tortillas, salsas on the side. Sommelier Javi Coindreau (ex-Catalina) handles the wine with the same discipline.
Why We Love It
The gaonera taco style that earned El Califa de León a Michelin star is the reference point here, and Galindo earns it. Quality over complexity, produce over performance. The wine list is winemaker-direct, tightly edited and priced to drink, not admire. The courtyard and private dining room make it as comfortable for a quick Tuesday taco as a long Friday lunch.
Quick Bites
- EAT: Rib-eye gaonera taco with fresh tortilla and salsa on the side
- DRINK: Ask sommelier Javi what’s pouring. The list is small and everything on it is there for a reason.
- PLAY: You’re on Kellett Street. Stay another round and let the night sort itself out.
- VIBE CHECK: Lively 60-seat neighbourhood taquería with courtyard, bar, and private dining room designed for casual drop-in visits
