After opening 6 months ago, this restaurant in Macquarie Park has proven to be a hit. Their one and only dish on the menu is their M7 Wagyu Japanese-style hamburger, which is grilled right in front of you. You can enjoy this premium grade beef even when cooked to a lesser degree, so there is no stress in cooking it yourself. The set comes with a bowl of Japanese rice, Australian free range egg, pickles and miso soup. It is encouraged to cook it your style, whether that is making a fried rice out of it, it is entirely up to you.

Miji Bar & Grill

Does anyone dream of a DIY cocktail station? This newly opened Japanese izakaya in North Sydney not only sells a delicious range of Japanese bar favourites, such as meat skewers, an assortment of small plates, and chargrilled meats, but a DIY cocktail bar where you can have fun building your own concoction. All you do is purchase a prepaid card from the staff, pop it into their machine and choose from a selection of colourful alcoholic mixtures, syrups and garnishes. This unique experience will have you feeling like a wizard brewing your own cocktail potion.

Did you know there is a place in Sydney where you can cook your own Gyukatsu like in Japan? Just newly opened at Bankstown’s RSL, this restaurant’s menu features authentic Japanese dishes crafted with premium, pork-free, Halal-friendly ingredients. Their star dish is their Gyukatsu, affordable and cooked till it hits your idea of perfection. They also do lunch specials, like Duck Breast Steak which includes salad, tofu, dessert, steamed rice, three pieces of sashimi, miso soup and 3 kinds of zuke.

Yappari Steak

If you’re a steak person, this is the venue for you. This popular Japanese fast-food chain came to the shores of Australia back in August 2023, first landing in Sydney. The Okinawa-born spot is all about affordable, high-quality cuts of beef you can cook right in front of you. The steaks arrive on a heated stone, with instructions on how to achieve the perfect cook. All the steaks are available in different weights, ranging from 100 to 700 grams, each served as a set with rice, soup and salad. Vegan options are available, with plant-based burger steaks and veggie curry rice dishes.
