Sydney Writers’ Festival is turning the page on a brand new chapter.
In a landmark partnership with the State Library of NSW, and with the backing of the NSW Government, the Festival will launch a year-round program of literary events beginning this September.
This new initiative transforms the State Library into a dedicated hub for readers and writers, hosting workshops, author talks, international exchanges, and intimate readings well beyond the Festival’s annual May celebration. More than 70 events are already planned, featuring local icons like Stella Prize winner Michelle de Kretser, Festival favourite Hannah Kent, former Greens leader Bob Brown, and fresh voices including Melanie Saward and Saman Shad.
