Two wheels are becoming a more popular mode of transport than four wheels when it comes to getting around Sydney. Thanks to the City Of Sydney’s bike lanes and other initiatives, cycling in Sydney is on the rise. The Sydney Cycleways are celebrating this with the Sydney Rides Festival. Different cycle events for different levels are happening over the next two weeks. Whether you’re a casual rider or spandex-wearing professional there’s something for everyone.

Signature rides such as the Sydney Rides To Work, Sydney Rides The City and Sydney Rides The Night will take place.

Sydney Rides To Work
Refuel on your way to work and grab a free breakfast and coffee in certain locations in Sydney. You can also enter a prize draw to win a Magellan Cyclo 505 by completing your details on postcards which will be available at the event. Wednesday 15 October, 6.30 am – 9.00 am in Prince Alfred Park, Cnr Cleveland St, George St and Refern

Sydney Rides The City
A free event by the harbour which will include activities such as BMX displays, face paintings, a dutch food zone, jumping castle, and more. Sunday 19 October, 8.00 am to 1.00 pm in Pirrama Park, Pirrama Road, Pyrmont

Sydney Rides The Night
This is the final event of the festival. Experience light installations and special effects while you ride through a 2.5 km illuminated course. There will be gourmet food trucks, live music and entertainment on the big screen. Saturday 25 October, 6.00 pm – 12.00 am in The Domain, Mrs Macquaries Rd, Sydney
