Icebergs, Aria, Quay, Merivale, and more are swapping their aprons for soccer kits this September.
Sydney’s inaugural Hospitality Cup kicks will kick off on Monday, 16th September at Canterbury’s KIKOFF Football. This charity soccer tournament brings together Sydney’s top hospitality groups and venues for a thrilling one-day competition. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Big Issue’s Street Soccer Program, which uses the power of sport to empower Sydney’s homeless community.
“We want this event to have a purpose,” says Jean-Baptiste Dumas, founder of Sport Together, the organisation behind the charity event. Dumas launched the competition in Melbourne in 2019 as a way to foster camaraderie within the hospitality industry. Now, he’s bringing the fun to Sydney with a star-studded line-up including:
- Icebergs Dining Room and Bar
- Aria
- Solotel Group
- Merivale Group
- House Made Hospitality Group
- Love Tilly Group
- Oncore by Clare Smyth
- Chachii
- Esca Group
- Quay/Fink Group
- Shell House (Point Group)
- Saké
- Rockpool Bar and Grill
- A’mare
- Sam Prince Hospitality Group
The festivities kick off at 10am with 32 matches throughout the day. There’ll also be a skills challenge for team captains sponsored by Red Bull. And the grand final and winner’s ceremony will take place at 4.30pm. The event is open to the public, giving everyone the chance to see Sydney’s hospitality stars compete for a good cause. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, making it a great day out, free of charge!
