Ever dreamt of renting a private pool? Well now you can with Swimply, the pool sharing platform helping you find and book your perfect dip.
Sydneysiders are spoilt for choice when it comes to spots to swim. From Bondi’s iconic Icebergs to North Sydney’s picture-perfect Olympic Pool, there’s no shortage of places to take a plunge. But uncovering a highly coveted private pool is another matter. Unless you’re lucky enough to find yourself renting an apartment with a pool thrown in, finding a private swimming spot in sparkling Sydney is about as easy as scoring a beachside park at Bronte on a Sunday morning.
But before you throw your hands up in despair, listen up. We’ve got BIG news for you. Introducing Swimply, the online pool sharing platform that is giving you the chance to rent out your dream pool this summer. So, how does it work? Essentially Swimply is the Uber of the pool world, allowing users to search for their perfect pool, book in and enjoy a dip (while pretending you own the joint, obviously). The average cost to rent a pool is currently at USD$45 per hour (roughly $66 AUD).
Swimply allows users to book by the hour, with each packed with a stack of extras like BBQs, hot tubs, night lighting and even giant floaties. Although pool availability is limited in Australia at the moment, the list of rentals are expected to grow in the lead-up to the warmer months and their US offering gives us plenty to get excited about. Currently, there are pools available across the States, including pools in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, New York, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia.
The highlights so far include a Miami poolside oasis (USD$150 per hour) that comes complete with a basketball court, changing rooms, deck, night lighting, lounge areas and pool toys. And there’s set to be plenty more to check out in the coming months, with hundreds of pool owners joining the platform each week since launch.
