The biggest multi-city ticketed LGBTQIA+ event in the southern hemisphere just scored four new international acts to the lineup.
The Summer Festival circuit is shaping up nicely this year with huge headliners announced for Festival X, Falls and Lost Paradise and now Summer Camp. Australia’s first touring pride festival will finally burst into Centennial Park this November, just in time for a summer camp experience unlike any other. Your counselors are DJ’s, Camp leaders are in drag, and a little bit of sparkle is essential uniform.
After 2 years of cancelled festivals, floods and global pandemics, Summer Camp is here, queer and ready to go off, and we can’t wait to get on board.
The festival just added a whole stack of new talent to the already abundant lineup. UK pop icon Sophie Ellis Bextor will join, party queen DJ Jodie Harsh, and French music producer and singer Coucou Chloé in what is set to be the campest festival of the summer.
Having amassed 40 million viewers with her weekly “Kitchen Disco” through lockdown, Sophie Ellis-Bextor is itching to break out of her home and onto the Summer Camp stage. Joining her from the UK, iconic London DJ Jodie Harsh, will host a takeover of the dance tent for a thumping set into the early hours.The extravagant French DJ and most recently Drag Race France judge, DJ Kiddy Smile will also take to the stage for the first time in Australia.
The eclectic mix join a lineup of world class talent who have been making a hell of a lot of noise on the scene recently. Following the release of his third studio album, headliners Years & Years join Summer Camp right off the back of an awe-inspiring Glastonbury performance last month.
New Orleans bounce music CEO Big Freedia, is having a huge moment following being sampled by Queen Bey on her comeback single ‘Break My Soul’ which is currently the lead single of the #1 album all over the world.
To top off the biggest LGBTQIA+ party, the Entertainment Quarter’s newly launched music venue, Liberty Hall, will host an afterparty of epic proportions to continue the music, love and hype.
