Put your paws up, Bondi — Spotify is throwing Australia’s first-ever rave for dogs, and it’s going down at a gelato bar made just for pups.
The Y2K rave revival has officially gone to the dogs. No, seriously. Spotify is teaming up with Bondi’s cult-fave dog gelato café Doglateria to launch Woof Doof — a feel-good, fur-friendly dance party soundtracked by reggae-soft rock fusion and curated exclusively for canine ears.
Set for Saturday, May 17th from 9am–12pm, this one-of-a-kind ‘dogpop’ celebration will feature low-volume DJ beats, glow sticks, peanut butter-topped gelato, and the kind of normcore rave energy you’d expect from Gen Z’s reimagining of club culture — but for the four-legged crowd.
And yes, it’s totally free.
Spotify has enlisted DJ Adam Thomas to spin a research-backed, pup-approved playlist featuring chill rhythms and calming tones proven to get tails wagging without overloading those sensitive ears. The vibe? Imagine a reggae and soft-rock fusion, and not a single bark-worthy beat over 60 decibels.
Pet parents are encouraged to submit their pooch’s favourite song in the comments over on @doglateria’s Instagram to help shape the final tracklist. (Will Who Let the Dogs Out make the cut? We can only hope.)
To fuel the dancefloor, Doglateria will debut a limited-edition dog gelato flavour inspired by the Bondi brunch classic: the açai bowl. Expect a scoop of whipped coconut cream, homemade doggie muesli bar, peanut butter and honey drizzle, and a sprinkle of carob for flair. (We’re honestly jealous.)
Doglateria founder Oscar Vallejo says, “We’re so excited to bring the Woof Doof to life with Spotify. This event is a celebration of Gen Z’s love for dogs and creativity — we’re ready to see paws on the pavement and plenty of wagging tails.”
The first 50 attendees will also score exclusive Woof Doof merch, designed to delight both humans and hounds alike.
Whether your pup is into power naps or paw-tying till noon, this is one event you don’t want to miss.
