With Cinco de Mayo just around the corner (Sunday 5th May), it’s time to dust of your sombrero and get ready for a taco and tequila fiesta you won’t want to miss. Neutral Bay’s SoCal certainly know how to throw a party, as they get ready to showcase the best of Mexico with a week-long event of booze and bites.
The festivities kick off on Saturday 4th May with SoCal’s Taco & Tequila Fiesta Launch Party. Starting at midday, get your hands on Olmeca ALTOS Margarita specials and free flower crowns by The Flower Social with the purchase of a Margarita between 12-3pm. To put you in the party mood, Mexican-themed live music will play late into the night.

Sunday 5th May
Ease into your Sunday at SoCal with a special ‘acústico’ live music session and flowing tequila cocktail specials all day. Free flower crowns are also available from 12pm-3pm with the purchase of a Margarita.
Monday 6th May
Partnering with comedy royalty Laugh Mob, Monday night sees SoCal transformed into the a belly-aching comedy hangout. Tickets are available for $10 and include a welcome cocktail, the show starting at 7:30pm.
Tuesday 7th May
Are you up for an all-you-can-eat taco challenge? For just $30, you can eat your way through an endless supply of SoCal’s tacos, from baja fish to smoked brisket, smoked pork and tofu. To wash it all down, nab yourself a $10 margarita, available all night.
Wednesday 8th May
If you’ve ever wanted to become the mixology master, now’s your chance as SoCal gets ready to host an Olmeca ALTOS Tequila Cocktail Masterclass. Hosted by master brand ambassadors from Olmeca ALTOS, head down to the pop-up bar on the SoCal terrace from 6-8pm. Tickets are $60 and include two cocktails and snacks.
Thursday 9th May
Now in its forth year, SoCal gets ready to host their popular Chilli Eating Contest. Online submissions are now open, with only 20 spots available, so you’ll want to get in quick!
Friday 10th May
To cap off the week-long festivities, get ready for the ultimate Taco and Tequila Degustation Dinner. SoCal’s Head Chef and Bar Manager have joined forces to create a bespoke degustation menu, which includes four exclusive tacos paired with four Olmeca ALTOS tequila cocktails. Tickets are $70, bookings essential.
