A heritage-listed pub, a renowned Thai chef, and a menu packed with flavour—Sita has just landed in the heart of Haymarket, and it’s set to be your next go-to Thai dining destination.
Nestled inside the Mountbatten Hotel, a grand sandstone pub built in 1882, Sita is the latest venture from Chef Pacharin “Air” Jantrakool, best known for her tenure at Sailors Thai. With over 35 years of culinary mastery—and a legacy shaped by Thai food icon David Thompson—Air brings a deeply personal and regional lens to the menu, inspired by her Northern Thai roots.
“Sita is more than just a restaurant—it’s a love letter to the food of my childhood,” Air says. And it shows. Her signature Muu Krob Piew Wan (crispy pork belly with sweet and sour sauce) has been perfected over two decades. Other standout dishes include Khao Soi—a coconut curry noodle soup rich with house-made chili oil—and soon-to-arrive delights like Chor Muang (flower-shaped butterfly pea dumplings) and celebratory Northern Larb Moo (minced pork salad with hand-roasted spices).
While the menu is steeped in tradition, the setting strikes a modern tone. Designed by Span Design Studio, Sita blends Thai opulence with the venue’s historic bones: think cherry-hued lighting, gilded accents, and mirrored walls that channel the energy of Bangkok’s vibrant after-dark scene.
Whether you’re a longtime fan of Chef Air or simply seeking soulful, regional Thai fare, Sita at Mountbatten Hotel delivers a warm, flavour-filled dining experience in the heart of the city.
