Shell House Opens Rooftop Sky Bar, Plus Reservations For Clocktower Bar & Dining Room Terrace

After the opening of Menzies Bar & Bistro, Shell House welcomes three new spaces within the historical CBD building.

Last month Sydney welcomed Menzies Bar & Bistro to the ground floor of Shell House. After months of interior renovations, the Sydney-based hospitality collective, The Point Group, is ready to open more drinking and dining experiences within the historic, multi-story venue. Three new spaces including The Sky Bar, The Clocktower Bar and The Dining Room & Terrace are set to open this November bringing more elegance to Margaret Street.

The Sky Bar

Perched above the bustling Sydney streets centering the heritage Shell House tower, Sky Bar boasts incredible views of the city skyline. The space features floor-to-ceiling glass doors surrounding pavillions that fully retract for an open-air experience. The venue is set to be an oasis from the bustling city, a place where you can relax and drinking under the stars.

The Clocktower Bar

The Sky Bar will be joined by a world-class cocktail bar within the iconic Clocktower on level 9. The venue is lined in timber joinery to capture the heritage of the space. The room is animated by the soaring void of the 400-tonne clocktower which has been fully restored. The team has curated a menu of nibbles and tipples for conviviality amongst friends. You’ll find options including Oscietra Caviar, Spiced Snapper Collar and Coal Roaster Quail. The beverage list sees Champagnes, progressive and classic wines, as well as a list of bright spritzes for summer.

The Dining Room & Terrace

The Dining Room & Terrace is helmed by the hottest kitchen team in the city. Culinary Director Joel Bickford and Head Chef Aaron Ward focus on carefully sourced produce, simple presentation and refined dishes. The menu can best be described as Australian but bears the mark of the Mediterranean way of life. You’ll be able to savour over a selection of Australian and New Zealand seafood including Live Pipis, Lobster, Mud Crabs, Prawns and Finfish. Wine Director Shun Eto showcases a sharp list of wines from around the world while complementing the food. The champagne list is also plentiful with the opportunity to try some incredible options by the glass. The space is elegant and grand, however approachable for all to visit. It’s set to be the beating heart of Shell House and the new gravity for the CBD.
