Sculpture by the Sea Returns: 90+ Sculptures Set to Transform Bondi’s Coastline

Play / 14 October 2025

Sydney’s most spectacular art event, Sculpture by the Sea, is set to make its grand return from 17th October to 3rd November 2025, transforming the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk into a 2km open-air gallery.

Now in its 27th year, the iconic exhibition will showcase over 90 sculptures by artists from 13 countries, drawing more than 450,000 visitors to Sydney’s cliffs, coves, and beaches over 18 art-filled days.

From large-scale installations to intricate conceptual works, this year’s lineup blends fresh talent with familiar favourites. Expect pieces from Doug Moran Portrait Prize and Archibald-winning artist Tim Storrier AM, who makes his Sculpture by the Sea debut, alongside returning creatives like Drew MacDonald, winner of last year’s People’s and Kids’ Choice Awards. The Aqualand Sculpture Award recipient Shen Lieyi (China) will return with a new work following his striking 2024 installation Tracing, while long-time exhibitors Lucy Barker and Jane Gillings team up for a joint piece this year.

Seven artists mark their 20th year exhibiting, including Ron Gomboc, Stephen King, and Keizo Ushio, cementing Sculpture by the Sea’s legacy as both a local tradition and a global celebration of public art.
