Stanley St Merchants have packed up shop and moved on only for a new dining concept to take their place. Welcome the second season winners of IconPark Rupert & Ruby American BBQ.  Officially open from yesterday, the Darlinghurst space has been transformed bringing a little southern American love to Sydney.

Fat Rupert’s Bondi chef’s Eli Challenger and Aaron Pearce team up with IconPark favourites Ruby’s BBQ hoping to create “something special, sharable … a Southern style BBQ with the fun good time bars found in New York City” and that’s exactly what they have done.
The menu includes classic southern favourites like a Bucket O’ Fried Chicken, Wagu Skirt Steak with wild mushrooms & yam chips as well as addictive burgers cleverly named after much loved rapper Biggie Smalls.

However the dish that takes the cake…is of the strawberry cheesecake variety. Make sure you save room for dessert!
Young Henry’s brew is on tap and they have a nice selection of craft beers by the bottle. We can’t wait to go back for breakfast. The chicken waffles with side of honey butter and hickory ice cream and the eggs benny with cured bacon, wild mushrooms and hollandaise sauce has our attention.
