Channel your best Boogie Nights Rollergirl vibes at Roller Jam
Ever wanted to recreate the Faith Evan’s ’98 music video, Love Like This? Erm, no, that’s just us? Well regardless anyone who fancies a spot of roller skating will be pleased to know that, as part of the Sydney Festival, you can get your roller jam on in Hyde Park at a specially installed rink. Stroll, spin and shake around the Archibald Fountain with a saucy lineup of live DJs. Gold lamé and knee warmers are optional.
For younger participants and clumsy attendants, remember to bring your safety gear. All children under 14 must wear a helmet. Click here for full skater guidelines and conditions of participation.
Prefer to stay on two feet instead of eight wheels but still want to join in the fun? Drop by the Meriton Festival Village from 12pm to grab a bite and a beverage. When the roller jam kicks off, make your way onto the lawn and get comfortable around the skate circle. Watch all the action, there’s bound to be some entertaining moments.
